prepare the next generation of the automotive workforce for today's
competitive market through financial assistance for students attending
various universities, colleges, and/or vocational schools in the United
States. In fact, the fund has yielded more than $1.5 million in

SEMA's Education Institute (SEI) recently interviewed 2010 SEMA
Memorial Scholarship Fund recipient David Arnouts, who is currently
working at Autoweek as associate editor. Arnouts shared some thoughts
about what fuels his enthusiasm for motorsports and provided advice for
students applying for scholarships and for those just beginning a career
in the automotive industry.
Students preparing for careers in the automotive industry may be eligible to receive financial awards ranging from $1,000–$4,000 through the 2012 SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund (SMSF). The scholarship application requires college transcripts and letters of recommendation and is now available at www.sema.org/scholarships.
Legendary builder Ed Pink assembled a very special engine using a
complement of premium-quality, high-performance components from leading
manufacturers in the automotive aftermarket, all of whom are SEMA
members. The engine sold for $8,200 and proceeds from the auction will
benefit the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Their products have been used to build a big-inch small-block Ford
engine that's currently up for auction on eBay.

With the participation of SEMA-member performance parts manufacturers
and legendary engine builder Ed Pink, the SEMA Scholarship Committee
will have a complete dyno-tested 302 Ford engine—based on a Dart block
and cylinder heads—up for auction on eBay concurrent with the upcoming
SEMA Show. Proceeds will benefit the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund
(SMSF). Simultaneously, a customized Dodge Charger and Avenger will also
be auctioned to benefit the SMSF.
