This Saturday: Temecula, CA 'Walk Like MADD' Honors Lives Lost, Demands Action
This Saturday, March 29, Linfield Christian School in Temecula, California, will host a rally, Walk Like MADD, to take a stand against impaired driving.
This event is designed to shed light on recent studies showing that impaired driving fatalities have surged 33% nationwide since 2019, organizers said. Impaired driving accounts for more than one-third of all traffic deaths in California, making this year's Walk Like MADD more critical than ever. Participants will share personal stories of loss, survival and resilience, underscoring the toll of impaired driving and the urgency to act now, organizers said.
The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. PDT and will raise awareness and funds to fight impaired driving and provide free support services to victims.
In 2024, Walk Like MADD events raised nearly $4 million nationwide to support victims, educate communities and advocate for stronger impaired driving laws.
