Nationwide Search for Top Young Vehicle Builders Begins in Texas

By Richard Hail

The 2020 SEMA Battle of the Builders Young Guns Regional Program kicks off on Saturday, March 7, at the Spring Break Jam in South Padre Island, Texas. Builders age 27 or younger interested in competing for a chance to participate in the 2020 SEMA Battle of the Builders and showcase their vehicles at the SEMA Show, November 3-6, in Las Vegas, are encouraged to enter the competition at www.semayoungguns.com.

Since 2014, the SEMA Battle of the Builders competition has served as the automotive industry’s premier vehicle competition. Open exclusively to builders with vehicles on display at the SEMA Show, the competition expanded in 2017 to include a Young Guns category in recognition of rising young builders. This year, SEMA has increased the number of scheduled qualifying events to 13 in an effort to discover an even larger pool of talented builders. One winner from each venue will be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the 2020 SEMA Show, transportation of the winner’s vehicle, a designated feature spot at the Show and entry into SEMA Battle of the Builders competition.

The Heat Wave Spring Break Jam presented by Espino Las Milpas will feature vehicles from 10 young builders as they compete for a chance to advance to the SEMA Battle of the Builders competition in Las Vegas. The 10 contenders will be selected from applicants who enter the Young Guns regional competition at www.semayoungguns.com.
