Spy Shots: Cadillac Meets Camaro in New Z/28

Testing of the 2012 Camaro Z/28 seems to be in full swing, says spy photographer Brenda Priddy, who sent these shots of a prototype blasting past her lenses.

"Through the front-end camouflage, we can see a much larger air intake in the lower fascia as well as a pronounced lip spoiler," Priddy says. "We've been told the Z/28 front end will be quite close to the Transformers Camaro GM showed at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show."

The Z/28's side profile shows a serious wheel/tire/brake package. A set of 20-inch wheels, wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires appear to be the order of the day for the Z/28, and the brakes appear to be the same found on the Cadillac CTS-V.

Clearly and unmistakenly taken from the CTS-V is the 6.2L LSA supercharged V8, which emits an exhaust note that Priddy's shooter described as "unholy." Watch for the 2012 Camaro Z/28 to go on sale in Q1 or Q2 of 2011.
