Auto Meter Acquires Rights to Manufacture Micro Air Core Movements

Trans World News reports that Auto Meter Products will acquire the rights to manufacture the air core movement to power its automotive performance gauges from SIMCO Limited of Lapeer, Michigan. The company has also acquired the exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the Micro Air Core movements in the performance automotive aftermarket. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Micro Air Core movements offer a patented design that deliver a high degree of accuracy and also feature a reliable pointer indication in gauge applications. The compact design of the air core movements allows the use of thin instruments with better lighting freedom and gauge design, according to the company.
