WTC Reception Ready for Renaissance
WTC
reminds all wheel and tire industry professionals to stop by the
Renaissance Hotel Copa rooms on Wednesday, November 4, at 5:00 p.m. for
the annual WTC Industry Awards Reception. The Renaissance is located
directly adjacent to the Convention Center South Hall entrance, making
it the single most convenient place for wheel and tire exhibitors to
stop and relax after a long day on the Show floor.
"We’ll be presenting the 2009 WTC Lifetime Achievement Award during the
evening," said WTC Chair-Elect David Insull. "We also have a special
award announcement, of sorts. Wheel and tire professionals will want to
be on hand for that. We also have a few door prizes to give away. These
are valuable prizes, something that everyone will want to have. But to
have a chance at winning, you have to be there!"
WTC wishes to thank the following companies for sponsoring the reception:
- American Tire Distributors
- Discount Tire
- Konig
- Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels
- Standards Testing Labs
- Steele Rubber Products
- The Ultimate Wheel & Tire Plus Sizing Guide
WTC Open Meeting Postponed
The WTC Open Meeting scheduled for Monday afternoon, at 1:00 p.m. in Meeting Room S233, has been postponed to a later date. Logistics and scheduling conflicts with principle speakers for the meeting could not be resolved, and the meeting will be scheduled sometime in the future. Come to the ARMO Booth at the SEMA Show
ARMO would like to invite everyone to stop by the ARMO booth at the 2009 SEMA Show. The council will display three vehicles this year—a '66 Mustang, '69 Chevrolet Camaro and a '32 roadster. You can also see a video display of the ARMO New Products Showcase held earlier this year in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Throughout the Show, representatives from the ARMO council will be at the booth to answer your questions.
Check Out This Kid at the SEMA Show
Meet 16-year-old Race Safro in front of the SEMA Show with a restored '77 Ford Bronco on display. Safro has been involved with cars since he was 4 years old. Since that time, he has designed the custom interior of a Hollywood Gram and a chassis for a '32 Highboy, and he designed and built a '29 five-window Model A.
Most recently, Safro has taken on the responsibility of restoring a '66 Pontiac Lemans in which the owner has given Safro full permission to incorporate his creativity into the interior, paint and engine. Safro has been an advocate of ARMO's Take a Kid to a Car Show program, and he will be passing out items throughout the week.

New Location for TORA Industry Reception
TORA will present its annual industry awards on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, during the TORA reception at the Renaissance Hotel. This will be the first time that TORA presents awards at the SEMA Show, and also the first time that their reception will be at the Renaissance.
"We’re really looking forward to this year’s reception," said TORA Chair Elect George Lathouris. "It’s exciting to present our awards as part of the SEMA Show, and it’s exciting to move to a new venue. The Renaissance is literally right out the door from South Hall, so we’re accepting no excuses for no-shows. The new products section is also in South Hall, which will make it convenient for our awards committee to pick our Best New Products winners. This year’s Show is nothing but positive for us."
The TORA Industry Reception is in Ballrooms 1 and 2 of the Renaissance, Wednesday, November 4, from 5:00 p.m.–7:00 pm.
Thanks to Our Sponsors
TORA wishes to thank the following member companies for their generous
sponsorship of the upcoming TORA Industry Reception on Wednesday,
