As the annual SEMA Cares Pinewood Drag Races fast approach, members have the opportunity to sponsor cars hand-crafted by children.
Each year, generous individuals around the United States step up to sponsor cars for SEMA's Pinewood Drag Races, and SEMA councils challenge each other for the Council Cup. This is all done in support of SEMA Cares charities, such as Childhelp and Victory Junction, which both support children in need. This year's event will take place near the historic Pomona Raceway—the perfect setting for a drag race—at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel & Convention Center in Pomona, California, July 18, 2014.

create fabulous pinewood race cars as they participate in the annual
SEMA Pinewood Drag Races presented by eBay Motors.
The vehicles featured in the Hot Rod Industry Alliance
(HRIA) Builder's Challenge during July's SEMA Pinewood Drag Races will
soon be made available for auction through eBay. Proceeds raised through
the auction will benefit Childhelp and the Victory Junction Camp. But
before these carefully crafted masters of the metal dragstrip find new
homes, SEMA eNews talked to builders to uncover their motivation for
making these pinewood cars special.
