HRIA Elects New Select Committee Members
Tammy Holland has been involved in the automotive aftermarket industry for more than 14 years in the sales communications division of COMP Performance Group. During that time, she has served on many SEMA committees and received numerous SEMA awards, including the 2004 SEMA Young Executive of the Year. Holland has been instrumental in recognizing the importance of growing the next generation of executives in the industry by helping to establish an award for those individuals that support the growth of the industry’s younger executives. She includes Ron Coleman and Scooter Brothers of Comp as her personal mentors, and her favorite aspect of the hot-rod hobby is the people.

“When you see that someone has put a lot of time and effort into a vehicle, the look in their eyes when you ask them about their car always amazes me,” she said. “No matter their age, you see this glimmer of pride and excitement. This look is so overwhelming that you can’t help but feel their passion and get lost in their story.”
Holland hopes to become very involved in the membership aspects of the Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA), creating a members’ resource pool to seek new members and a “Hot Rodders Highlight” to introduce new members to the council.
Scott Bowers began his career at the age of 21, working as a manager for Ron Francis Wiring, and eventually moved up to vice president of the company. After starting his own business, Bowers returned to Ron Francis Wiring as president and owner in 2007. As a new member of the HRIA Select Committee, Bowers understands the difficulties and opportunities of owning and managing an aftermarket business, and he hopes to provide a voice for small-business leaders in the industry. He believes that the collective voice of the businesses in the hot-rod industry can grow louder and more effective, and he looks forward to working with the Select Committee in tackling the tough issues facing the industry.
Get Involved With a Committee
The many different committees that are coordinated by the Select Committee carry out the goals of HRIA. All members of HRIA are encouraged to volunteer and participate in any of the following committees. Your involvement is a great way to meet hot-rod industry peers as well as help support and grow the hobby and the industry.

The Legislative Committee provides a proactive and reactive presence on legislative issues that directly impact the hot-rod industry and hobby at the local, state and national levels. The Membership Committee develops new members through the promotion of council benefits. Committee members contact and welcome new members, mentor new members and develop plans to grow HRIA membership. (Contact Tammy Holland,

The Publicity Committee disseminates information to the membership and the public about HRIA activities, events and newsworthy items to promote greater awareness of the hot-rod industry and hobby. Committee members work on projects that help preserve and promote the participation of members and nonmembers in the industry. (Contact Eric Saltrick,

The Sponsorship Committee offers all HRIA-member companies an opportunity to support HRIA events throughout the year. Committee members discuss and promote sponsorship opportunities that help place member companies in the best possible light with regards to their support. (Contact Janeen Webb, janeen.webb@sorc.com)
The Vehicles Committee selects and coordinates a variety of hot-rod vehicles to represent the industry and hobby at the annual SEMA Show and at HRIA-sponsored events. The Youth Awareness Committee brings awareness of the hot-rod hobby and industry to younger generations in order to ensure the future prosperity and longevity of the industry. Committee members devise programs and projects to educate future rodders on the types of careers available in the industry as well as the excitement of hot rodding in general.
