Hot Rodders Guide to the 2011 SEMA Show

Hot Rod Alley
Hot Rod Alley may be one of the smaller sections of the annual SEMA Show, but it is also one of the oldest. A trip through Hot Rod Alley reveals innovations, products and history that have been the foundation for many of the other areas of the Show.
The hot-rod market looks to make a big rebound in 2012, as seen by the variety of new products that will be featured in this area. According to SEMA research reports, the number of unique buyers indicating an interest in the hot-rod market has increased 54% over the same period in 2010. There is also a renewed interest hot rods among a younger audience, with nearly half of the hot-rod enthusiasts at the Show under the age of 41.

HRIA Builders Pinewood Cars
Stop by the Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) booth in Hot Rod Alley to see unique miniature hot rods. Several world-class hot-rod builders have created one-of-a-kind pinewood race cars that will be on display in Hot Rod Alley as part of the annual HRIA Pinewood Builders Race. These collector vehicles, autographed by the builders, will also be available to Show participants through an online eBay auction. All of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Childhelp and Victory Junction Camp charities. The auction will take place November 1–10. Simply search “HRIA Pinewood” on eBay for your chance to own a custom hot rod from a legendary builder.

HRIA Feature Vehicles
The annual HRIA reception will be held at the SEMA Show on Wednesday evening, November 2. Six selected hot rods will be on display during the reception. A committee of industry experts reviews dozens of applications for the cars to be featured at this event, and only a small group of the very best are chosen. The vehicles are often being debuted at the SEMA Show by the nation’s top hot-rod builders. In addition to getting an up-close glimpse at the cars, reception guests have an opportunity to meet the owners 
and builders.

Hot Rod Industry Awards
The highlight of the annual HRIA reception at the SEMA Show is the induction of new members to the HRIA Hall of Fame. The industry selects individuals who have influenced and impacted hot rodding in tremendous ways. In addition, the Goodguys Trendsetter award recognizes the most innovative hot-rod builders in the industry; the NSRA Achievement award is presented to a business or individual that has supported the street-rodding hobby and industry; and the ISCA Legends of Hot Rods award recognizes the founders of the hot-rodding industry.

HRIA Booth
