Ferrari Roma Successor Spotted Testing in Italy
SEMA News sources recently spotted the successor to the Ferrari Roma, which is on track for a typical five-year production run and is nearing the end of its lifecycle after its introduction in 2019.
Although Ferrari hasn't officially announced a successor, these shots confirm that a new model is in development, which may carry a different name.
According to sources, Ferrari trademarked "Amalfi" and "Amalfi Spider"--names that evoke Italy's Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Campania region--about a year ago.
As the Ferrari Roma was also named after an Italian city, many speculate that Amalfi could be the logical name for its successor. However, Ferrari has historically used place names across its lineup, so "Ferrari Amalfi" or "Amalfi Spider" could appear in a different segment altogether.
Ferrari has also filed trademarks for other Italian place names, including "Mugello," "Milano," and "Montecarlo," hinting at even more Italy-inspired names for future models.
Kia EV2 Breaks Cover In Germany With Boxy Look
Although not officially announced, Kia is expanding its lineup of electric vehicles with the EV2, which was recently spotted undergoing tests in Europe.
New photos from SEMA News sources show the EV2 in camouflage with visible roof rails, although the full design is still under wraps. Sized just below the EV3, the EV2 is set to fill a gap in Kia's lineup following Hyundai's introduction of the budget-friendly electric Inster in Europe and Asia. Kia is expected to release the EV2 as an affordable yet versatile SUV, an area previously served by the e-Soul.
The EV2 will come with all-electric powertrains and two battery options, with the top model offering an estimated 250 miles of range, according to sources. Fast charging will also be a priority, with a target to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 30 minutes.
Kia plans to unveil the EV2 in the latter half of 2025. Production will be based in Slovakia, marking another step in Kia's commitment to expanding its electric offerings globally.
