UPDATE: East and Gulf Coast Ports Shut Down Indefinitely Due to Strike

By the SEMA Washington, D.C., office

Port of New York

Ports along the East and Gulf Coasts, from Maine to Texas, are shut down indefinitely due to a longshoremen strike.

SEMA and our coalition partners are urging President Biden to intervene prior to the strike--read our letter that asks the president to bring both parties back to the bargaining table to restart stalled negotiations.

It's time for the president to end the strike, which threatens our nation's economy, hurts consumers and damages the livelihoods of thousands of small businesses that weren't party to the negotiations. Send your own letter letter to President Biden telling him how the strike will impact your business.
