Chris Forsberg Claims 2018 Formula DRIFT Orlando Victory
Round two of the 2018 Formula DRIFT championship wrapped up at Orlando Speed World last weekend. Fredric Aasbo qualified first, giving him a bye in the Top 32 run offs. Aasbo advanced to the Final Four, where he came up against eventual winner Chris Forsberg in his NOS Energy Drink Nissan 370Z on Nexen Tires. The first two runs were too close to call for the judges, but on the second attempt, Forsberg claimed victory and headed to the final, where he defeated 2017 FD Champion James Deane in his Worthouse/Falken Tire/Nissan Silvia S15. Round three takes place in Atlanta, May 11–12.

VP Racing Fuels Extends Support of Drag Racer Don O’Neal
VP Racing Fuels Inc. has announced it has extended its sponsorship of U.S. Army veteran and NHRA Top Sportsman driver Don O’Neal and his “Mad Scientist” entry. O’Neal, whose grandfather fought in the Korean War and whose father fought in Vietnam, enlisted in the Army as a helicopter mechanic and retired as a Sergeant First Class in 2013.

Champion Oil has announced it has become the title sponsor of the U6SA Micro Sprint Point Series Championship. The Champion Oil U6SA Series incorporates more than 50 different race tracks and more than 200 events with hundreds of individual teams and drivers.

Torrence, Pedregon, Enders and Savoie Secure Victories at NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals
Steve Torrence raced to the Top Fuel victory last Sunday at the ninth annual NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway. Cruz Pedregon (Funny Car), Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also winners in their respective categories at the sixth event on the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule. Torrence piloted his Capco Contractors dragster to a 3.813-second pass at 326.56 mph as he became the first driver to reach three victories on the season. He defeated Doug Kalitta, Terry McMillen and Clay Millican in the final round for his 19th career win and second at zMAX Dragway. With the victory, Torrence moves back into sole possession of the Top Fuel points lead after entering Charlotte in a first-place tie with Tony Schumacher, who was eliminated in the first round. Pedregon ran a 4.059 at 310.84 in his Snap-On Tools Toyota Camry for his 36th career victory and first since Englishtown 2014. In Pro Stock, Enders picked up her 23rd career victory and second win in Charlotte with a 6.535 at 212.73 in her Melling Performance/Elite Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro. Savoie emerged victorious in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class, as he earned his ninth career victory and first at zMAX Dragway when he ran a 6.784 at 195.73 on his White Alligator Racing Suzuki in the final round. The 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season continues with the NHRA Southern Nationals Powered by Mello Yello at Atlanta Dragway in Atlanta, May 4–6.

Double Podium Finish for Callaway Competition
The second race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters 2018 season was held at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic, and Callaway Competition drivers Daniel Keilwitz and Marvin Kirchhöfer reached the podium in both races, finishing P2 twice. No other team collected more championship points last weekend. The challenging, 21-turn, 4.212-km course proved to offer few opportunities for passing. However, both on Saturday and on Sunday, in the Corvette C7 GT3-R, Kirchhöfer and Keilwitz took advantage of their second-place starts and defended the position in the two 60-minute races with second-place podium finishes. Callaway Competition will charge back to the Red Bull Ring in the Austrian province of Styria, June 8–10, for the third battle of the ADAC GT Masters Championship.
