Racing and performance lifestyles are critical to OEMs and the continued relevance and innovation within the specialty-equipment community for both longtime members as well as next-generation racers, enthusiasts and fans. Ford’s latest GT, Raptor and Mustang, GM’s new Camaro and Toyota’s TRD Pro Series vehicles are excellent examples of OEM-aftermarket collaboration and technology transfer from the track to the street.
But, what is the future of racing and performance? Are today’s youth having an impact on grassroots? Are they impacting professional motor racing and performance technologies, series, sponsorships and marketing trends? Are the balance of performance formulas working to drive innovation and growth in the industry, or driving its demise?
