An updated version of the ’14 Honda Civic Coupe debuted on the opening day of the 2013 SEMA Show, providing a first look at the compact’s new exterior updates. Honda announced that the Civic Si will benefit from increased power and larger wheels and tires.
Honda will also release street-oriented performance parts developed by Honda Performance Development Inc. (HPD), Honda’s U.S.-based race engineering company, starting with a full range of performance accessories for the CR-Z sport hybrid coupe. A CR-Z supercharger package will follow in the spring of next year, and the HPD engineers are working with the R&D team currently developing the next-generation Civic—due in a few years—to ensure that it will be designed ready for HPD street performance accessories.
Design changes for the Civic Coupe include a more aggressive grille, hood, front fenders and headlight design. The performance-tuned Civic Si Coupe and Si Sedan also get a retuned exhaust system that boosts peak output to 205 hp and 174 lb.-ft. of torque. Both the Si Coupe and Si Sedan get larger, 18-in. wheels and tires with new wheel designs.
