CAD data for the Camaro ZL1 is now available through the SEMA Tech Transfer Program—a data technology-sharing initiative between OEMs, SEMA and association members. |
With the ZL1 not yet at dealerships, manufacturers have an opportunity gain early access to the data needed to create products based on the manufacturers specs, helping to ensure a correct fit and saving companies time and money. The files currently available are:
- Front and rear fascia–lower body structure–Chassis-radiator
- Front Fascia–wheel wells, lights, grille, ducts, shocks
- Front and rear suspension
- Air intake assembly
- Engine assembly
Here are the specs for the Camaro ZL1 from Chevrolet.
The intent of SEMA Tech Transfer is to minimize or completely eliminate the necessity for reverse engineering in order for member manufacturers to produce products. To get started, visit www.sema.org/techtransfer. Additional information about the program is available on the site or via e-mail at techtransfer@sema.org.
In addition to SEMA Tech Transfer, the association also provides rapid prototype services as a benefit to SEMA members. This service is available to create ABS plastic prototypes of company designs at a reduced rate available only to SEMA members.
