Mid America Motorworks Names Michael Furman Call Center Director
Mid America Motorworks hired Michael Furman as its call center
director. Prior to joining Mid America Motorworks, Furman was the
director of call center operations at Rosetta Stone. According to Mid
America Motorworks, Furman has an extensive background in the call
center environment, bringing knowledge of managing, training,
developing and motivating call center teams to the company. He has
actively developed and implemented programs to improve call center
efficiency and has worked with call centers on domestic and
international training.

California Tire Dealers Association – North, South Announce Merger
The California Tire Dealers Association (CTDA) – North and the California Tire
Dealers Association – South have officially merged as of July 1. The
association’s new name—California Tire Dealers Association—was
accepted and approved by the Secretary of State. The California Tire
Dealers Association released the following statement: "Our newly joined
board members are enthusiastically moving forward with changes that
will positively impact our association. In an effort to promote
“oneness” in such a large and diverse state, a rotating regional
meeting schedule will be planned for 12 distinct geographical
areas."
In addition, each region will be represented in the CTDA
newsletter’s "Regional Roundup" section with reports from board
members. A new Board of Directors was also established: President,

Adam’s Richard Kashinsky will give demonstrations to automotive enthusiasts and collector-car owners at RK Motors Charlotte’s main showroom, located on its 75,000-sq.-ft. campus in Charlotte. The first clinic of the day is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. (EDT) and the second at 2:00 p.m. Each free clinic will last between 60 and 90 minutes. Quarter Mile Foundation Adds 16 East Coast Drag Racing Legend Interviews
Quarter Mile Foundation secured interviews of 16 East Coast drag-racing legends for Project 1320 at the 10th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion (US 30 Dragway) on July 8–9, 2011.The interviews covered some of the stars of the formative years of the sport in what today is considered NHRA’s Division 1, as well as the extreme northern portion of Division 2 (Southeast Division). The interviews touched on the East Coast Gasser scene, as well as Fuel Altereds, Top Fuel, Super Stock, Pro Stock and A/FX-Funny Cars of the late ’50s through the early ’80s. ’32 3-Window Coupe Named Goodguys 2011 Classic Instruments Street Rod of the Year
Phil and Debbie Becker's Mustard yellow ’32 3-Window Coupe took home the Goodguys 2011 Classic Instruments Street Rod of the Year award at the Goodguys 14th PPG Nationals presented by Bridgestone in Columbus, Ohio. The coupe was crafted by Dave Lane of Fastlane Rod Shop. According to the Goodguys, Lane is a throwback to the European coach builders of the 20th century who has a unique build style, he only takes on one car at a time and he hires no outside help. The entire build took just shy of two years. The top five finalists for the Goodguys 2011 Classic Instruments Street Rod of the Year included Dave & Sue Doll, Humphrey, NE (1932 Ford), Butch Downs, Colona, IL (1934 Hupmobile), Rodney Harris, Leighton, AL (1932 Ford), Phil & Debbie Becker, Dwight, IL (1932 Ford) and Dale Johns, Van Buren, AR (1933 Ford).
