As the world’s premier automotive specialty-products trade show, the 2011 SEMA Show, to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 1–4, 2011, attracts more than 100,000 industry leaders from more than 100 countries and also provides a unique opportunity for buyers and exhibitors to connect.
Just this past month, SEMA unveiled a completely redesigned, easily navigable SEMA Show website that offers exhibitors and attendees everything they need to know to prepare for the Show. The new website was built with more features and tools to allow visitors to pick a booth and/or keep tabs on the exhibitor list section-by-section, access registration forms and deadlines, the Exhibitor Manual, latest Show news, travel and lodging information, success tips, an events calendar, New Products Showcase information, videos and a photo gallery from previous Shows, a complete floorplan, key Show contacts, Las Vegas shuttle bus information, a list of celebrity attendees and much more.
The Show covers the entire realm of the specialty-equipment industry and is comprised of 12 categories: Business Services; Global Tire Expo—Powered by TIA; Hot Rod Alley; Mobile Electronics & Technology; Collision Repair & Refinish; Powersports & Utility Vehicles; Racing & Performance; Restoration Marketplace; Restyling & Car Care Accessories; Tools & Equipment; Trucks, SUVs and Off-Road; and Wheels & Accessories.
Each will be highlighted separately every week in SEMA eNews. This week’s category is Collision Repair & Refinish, which—now in its third year of existence—formerly was known as Paint, Body and Equipment (PBE). So far, 128 collision repair and refinish companies—including 64 first-timers—are exhibiting in the North Hall across 38,650 sq. ft. The number of exhibitors and net square footage in this section has increased 51% and 35%, respectively, over this time last year.
“Collision repair and refinish are essential in the automotive specialty-equipment market,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of communications and events. “The creation of this floor section two years ago was just one step in adding value for this important audience. We have much more planned for 2011 and will continue to deliver more to both exhibitors and buyers in this market.”
Last year, organizers expanded this section and made it more prominent. Additionally, the SEMA Show educational program will include several sessions specifically targeting the collision repair and refinish market. SEMA Show organizers are collaborating with representatives from the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) to develop the educational program and schedule meetings for SCRS members during the SEMA Show.
“We’re working closely with SCRS to make it easy for professionals in the automotive collision repair and refinish market to get the most value from the SEMA Show,” MacGillivray said. “With meetings, education and quality exhibitors all available to this market, we’re confident that the return on the participants’ investments is sure to be huge.”
The Collision Repair & Refinish section of the SEMA Show is one of several newly mapped sections that has grown rapidly. The 128 companies that will showcase their products to the collision repair and refinish market include such long-standing exhibitors as Sherwin Williams, 3M, House of Kolor, DuPont and more.
