Todd Gartshore, co-founder and vice president of marketing for Baer Brakes, passed away suddenly Sunday morning, June 26. Gartshore was a dedicated SEMA volunteer, a passionate supporter of the industry and a well-regarded personality among all who knew him.
Gartshore’s involvement with SEMA was extensive. He was a volunteer on the SEMA Board of Directors, serving three consecutive terms, from 1999–2005 and was a Select Committee member of SEMA's Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC) from 2003–2005. Gartshore was recently re-elected to the MPMC Select Committee in 2010, and was a current volunteer on the MPMC Hall of Fame Task Force.
Within the association, Gartshore was recognized equally for his friendly demeanor as well as his dedication to the specialty-equipment market. Baer Brakes currently has the following posted on its website: "Todd was known for his great sense of humor; he loved to make people smile and laugh."
Gartshore’s commitment to the industry extended well beyond the motorsports market. Most recently, he supported the association's Town Hall Series by serving as one of the hosts to the inaugural event held in February in Scottsdale, Arizona.
"It was a pleasure to work with a man who had a passion for the industry and a willingness to help SEMA at every level," said SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting. "Todd was not only an asset on the Board, but he was also an ambassador to SEMA members."
SEMA extends its sincerest condolences to Gartshore's family and friends and the entire team at Baer Brakes.
The funeral for Todd Gartshore will be at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church on July 13, at 11:00 a.m. The church is located at 10755 North 124th Street, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
