The industry's thoughts are with Linda Vaughn, Miss Hurst Golden Shifter, who is recovering from heart surgery she underwent in April. |
Prior to the operation, Vaughn said, "I am tired of feeling 'low speed.'" After surgery, her spirits are equally as high and she is recovering as expected.
Throughout the ’60s, ’70s and in to the early ’80s, Vaughn's looks and charm were just as much of an attraction at the track as any of the high-powered machines of the times. Even today, with Vaughn no longer traveling the circuits as race queen, she is still one of the industry's best-known spokesmodels.
Vaughn was named the SEMA Person of the Year in 1979 and was inducted into the SEMA Hall of Fame in 1985.
