Street Scene's Spagnola and SEMA's MacGillivray Discuss the Future of the Specialty-Parts Market on Public Radio Show

Brian Watt from Southern California Public Radio recently reported on the station’s Shifting Gears segment on the status of the $30-billion-per-year specialty-parts industry in the United States—one that generates many jobs in Southern California, in particular.

Most gearheads look for parts made in the United States, and Southern California is considered to be the hotbed for specialty-parts manufacturing. It’s also where hot rodding began. But now, the custom-car culture is spreading to other countries, including China.

Peter MacGillivray, SEMA’s vice president of communications and events, and SEMA Board member Mike Spagnola of Street Scene Equipment were interviewed for this report.
