Proceeds from the auction of the WD-40/SEMA Cares Mustang—first introduced at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas—at Barrett-Jackson will go to the Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp children's charities. |
The WD-40/SEMA Cares Mustang introduction at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas was a success. Parked in front of a life-size banner that simulated a live Barrett-Jackson auction, the vehicle was a hit with its mean road-race-themed body kit and bright yellow paint. The deal has also been sweetened for the vehicle’s next owner—the highest bidder at the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Show and Auction January 17–23, 2011, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Swisstrax has donated the WD-40-themed blue-and-yellow modular flooring that appeared under the Mustang at SEMA, and O’Leary’s Truck Service will transport the Mustang, free of charge, in an enclosed truck to its new home anywhere in the lower 48 states.
You can check out the Mustang before the Barrett-Jackson auction at the San Diego International Auto Show, December 30, 2010–January 2, 2011, and race a virtual version of the vehicle in "Nitto 1320 Legends," an online racing game and social network with more than 1.5 million registered members. All proceeds from the vehicle's auction will go to the Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp children’s charities.
