The quad-tip exhaust, sportier wheels and tires, and cross-drilled
brake rotors indicate this isn’t a standard Mercedes-Benz SLK mule, but
rather the SLK 63 AMG high-performance twin-seat droptop, says spy
photographer Brenda Priddy. The deeper air inlet in the lower fascia is
also a dead giveaway. Priddy says the new SLK will sport a new, more upright grille and headlamp look (not unlike the new SLS) as well as daytime driving lamps, new door handles and large mirrors mounted on the door (rather than in front of the side window). What happens underhood, however, is uncertain. The latest 5.5L, twin-turbo V8 might be the engine of choice, although a twin-turbo V6 is also rumored. |
