Tom McKernan, CEO of Automobile Club of Southern California, and legendary voice of NHRA Dave McClelland have been named to the board of directors of The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. McKernan has been a huge supporter of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, both personally and professionally, forging the deal that brought on the Automobile Club of Southern California as presenting sponsor in 2004. McClelland, known throughout the motorsports world as “The Voice of NHRA” joins the museum board after a lifetime of involvement in broadcasting and drag racing. McKernan and McClelland join Alex Xydias, Peter Clifford, Gary Darcy, Steve Gibbs and Wayne McMurtry on the current board of directors.

The ’32 Ford hot rod roadster of Floyd Williams took home the 2010 Goodguys/Gearstar Hot Rod of the Year award at the 22nd Hot Rod Nationals in Indianapolis. Look for the Williams’ hot rod roadster at the Goodguys 13th PPG Nationals in Columbus, the Goodguys 24th West Coast Nationals, Goodguys Midwestern Nationals in Kansas City and the season-ending Southwest Nationals in Scottsdale, Arizona. The New Jersey Motorsports Park has introduced a new state-certified program for teen drivers. The classes feature professional instructors, classroom and hands-on instruction and are accredited by insurance companies. Remaining class dates are July 27, August 18 and September 1. Eugene, Oregon-based, Delta Kits has donated $6,000 so far in 2010 to Living Water International—a Christian organization based in Stafford, Texas, that aides developing countries around the world through implementing participatory, community-based water solutions. The donations have helped provide a new well for Maher Town, a community in Liberia, and training to demonstrate proper care for the pump. According to a recent report by Living Water International released in May the new well is providing fresh water to 1,200 people.
