The Hot Rod Industry Alliance, a SEMA council, will award its inaugural HRIA Cup to the top builder in this summer's Pinewood Drag Races. |
On Saturday, July 24, some of the industry's best hot-rod builders will square off in a one-of-a-kind race. More than 20 well-known rodders are designing and building their own pinewood cars for the annual SEMA Pinewood Drag Races in Pasadena, California.
And the only design limits for these builders are their own imaginations and creativity.
One car builder will receive the inaugural "HRIA Cup,” awarded by the Hot Rod Industry Alliance, along with bragging rights for the next year. Additionally, one car will win a “Best Design” award.
All of the custom-designed pinewood cars will be autographed by the builders and displayed at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. SEMA members may also bid on the cars in a silent auction to raise money for Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp.
And just like all racing, these cars need sponsors. What better way to help kids in need and highlight your company than by sponsoring a car or even a team of cars? For less than $100, you can sponsor a dragster built by the children of Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp. You'll also have a "driver" assigned to race the car on your behalf if you're unable to attend the races on July 24.

The Pinewood Drag Races are just one of the fundraising activities planned in conjunction with the SEMA Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser, July 23–24, at the Pasadena Convention Center, Pasadena, California.
