Mercedes-Benz is hard at work on its next-generation SLK, shot here without much camouflage by Brenda Priddy's spy photographers. Priddy notes the new more upright and squared front grille, similar to the new SLS "gullwing" model. Daytime driving lamps, new door handles and the bigger mirrors “standing” on the door, rather than being mounted in front of the side window, will be featured as well. The folding metal roof will also be standard.
Power will come from naturally aspirated and turbochraged V6 engines, and a diesel unit is possible, Priddy says. A 3.5L V6 twin turbo making 470-hp version could also make its way into an AMG version.
