Pinewood Dragster Builds Hit the East Coast

Cars from the upcoming Virginia Childhelp Village kid's build will be raced at the annual SEMA Pinewood Drag Race in July.

SEMA-member companies have the opportunity to help build pinewood drag cars at the Lignum, Virginia, Childhelp Village kid’s build on Saturday, May 22, 2010. There will be two sessions. The first is from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., after which lunch will be served. The second session will run from 12:45 p.m.–4:30 p.m.

Guests are free to come for lunch and then help in the second session or stay all day. Lignum is about 20 miles west of Fredericksburg.

The cars will be raced July 23–24, 2010, at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California, at the annual SEMA Pinewood Drag Race, held in conjunction with SEMA’s Installation Banquet & Fundraiser, which benefits children’s charities Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp.

Childhelp is an organization that assists abused and neglected children and Victory Junction Gang Camp provides life-changing camping experiences to disabled and chronically ill children.
