2010 SEMA Show exhibitor sign-ups are running approximately 16% ahead of levels from this time last year. |
“It is important that we work closely with all exhibitors so that they are aware of all the money-saving programs that are available. However, it’s especially critical for those exhibiting for the first time to know about the many ways we can help them be successful,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of communications and events.
Exhibitor sign-ups are running ahead of levels from the same time last year and increased by 35% in just the past week. With the uncertainty and financial crisis of 2009 and a likely 2010 rebound, it's not surprising that commitments are up approximately 16% from this same time last year. Included in the increase are 120 exhibitors and counting who sat out the 2009 SEMA Show, but are back for 2010, and betting on a prosperous 2011.
At the 2009 SEMA Show, 75% of buyers (as well as total attendees) were from the United States. Hailing from 140 countries and U.S. territories, 2009 SEMA Show international attendees increased to 25%—a 5% rise from 2008, according Hedges & Company data.
Ninety percent of international buyers had the ability to make buying decisions or recommendations, which is three points higher than the net buying influence of domestic buyers.
The 2010 SEMA Show—which takes place Tuesday—Friday, November 2–5, 2010, in Las Vegas—is a can't-miss opportunity to reach more than 50,000 buyers. At the 2009 SEMA Show, 87% of buyers made or influenced buying decisions within their businesses, and 73% said that they purchased more products from SEMA Show exhibitors than from non-exhibiting companies.
