All SEMA members are invited to join the children of Childhelp in building pinewood dragsters for the upcoming Pinewood Drag Races. |
Ever wanted to own a race team? Now you can, by sponsoring a car in the upcoming SEMA Pinewood Drag Races. For less than $100, you can sponsor a pinewood dragster built by the children of Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp, the two children's charities who will directly benefit from your racing patronage. You'll also have a "driver" assigned to race the car on your behalf if you're unable to attend the races on July 24.
The Pinewood Drag Races are just one of the fundraising activities planned in conjunction with the SEMA Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser, July 23–24, at the Pasadena Convention Center, Pasadena, California.
And if you're the hands-on type, SEMA invites you to help the children of Childhelp sand, paint and assemble the cars for the third-annual races. Each child will build two cars: one to keep and one reserved for sponsorship by a caring SEMA-member company or individual.
The build day will take place at Childhelp Village West in Beaumont, California, Saturday, May 8. Members interested in participating are invited to contact cindyb@sema.org.
