Spy Shots: Ford Testing 500hp Falcon That Americans Can't Have

Ford Falcon

Ford's engineers have been testing a sleek, Australian market Falcon FPV on the streets of southern Michigan. After close examination, Brenda Priddy (whose spy shooters caught this homesick prototype) says she's spied an intercooler in the bottom grille opening—which unless it's a decoy can only mean one thing: forced induction.

Priddy says the Coyote 5.0L V8 that recently debuted in the Mustang is likely the new motor powering the Falcon. In normally aspirated trim, that motor is good for 412 hp (in the Mustang). With a supercharger, 500 hp doesn't seem out of the question.
