GREEN TIMES THREE: NASCAR has changed its green-white-checkered
rule, allowing for as many as three green-white-checkered restarts in
each of NASCAR’s three national touring divisions.
MCKARNS DIES: Former ARTGO Challenge Series promoter and racing enthusiast John McKarns died February 9 after a long battle with bladder cancer.
HE’S BACK: After failing to find victory lane last year, NHRA
Funny Car legend John Force returned to glory with a victory during the
50th Kragen O’Reilly Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona
Sunday.
SKIPPING OUT: Conflicting reports are coming from the FIA about
the possibility of some of the new Formula One teams—specifically
Campos and US F1—being allowed to skip as many as three Formula One
events this year.
TEST RUN: E.J. Viso completed a test session with KV Racing
Technology at Sebring (Florida) International Raceway Monday, completing 103
trouble-free laps with a fast lap of 53.89 seconds.
GOING DELTA: DeltaWing revealed its proposed 2012 IZOD IndyCar
Series chassis during the Chicago Auto Show last week, with many
comparing the radical design to the “Batmobile” from the Batman films.
BACK ON TRACK: Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio, and Michigan’s
Upper Peninsula Fairgrounds will return to active duty this year, with
both tracks set to host a select number of races during the 2010 season.
