Chris Cook has joined the team at the Mobile Enhancement Retailers Association (MERA) as director of industry relations. He will concentrate on fortifying the association and industry by fostering relationships with manufacturers, retailers and other associations. MERA also announced that its past executive director, Barry Vogel, will serve as its new director of member relations, leveraging his experience as an independent retailer to address the issues facing the retail membership.
Meggan Thompson, a graduate of WyoTech - Blairsville, was selected as the winner of the school’s 2009 Dream Award. The award recognizes a graduate who has completed a post-secondary education while overcoming extraordinary challenges. Thompson overcame a life-threatening infection and subsequent surgery to complete WyoTech’s motorsports chassis fabrication program. As a Dream Award winner, Thompson will receive a $2,500 WyoTech scholarship to further pursue her education.
