JR Rocha's 2007 Infiniti G37 won last year's coveted Best of Show in the Gran Turismo Awards, announced at the SEMA Show. Is yours next? |
Sony PlayStation and Polyphony Digital, creator of the Gran Turismo driving simulator, will host the seventh-annual Gran Turismo Awards at the 2009 SEMA Show. And once again, judges picked from the industry’s leading publications will walk the SEMA Show floor on Tuesday and Wednesday looking for the vehicles that best capture today’s automotive trends.
Categories for the 2009 Awards include Best Hot Rod; Best Japanese Import; Best European Import; Best Domestic Automobile; and Best Truck/SUV.
Only one winner from these categories will be crowned Best in Show, however, by none other than Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi. The winner will join a select group of tuners who have had their vehicles included in a Gran Turismo title.
This year’s winning vehicle will be rendered in 1080p HD as a fully playable selection in an upcoming edition of the game, which has sold 52 million copies worldwide.
Winners will be announced in a ceremony on Wednesday night, November 4, at Rain Nightclub in the Palms Casino Resort.
