The New Products Showcase at the SEMA Show draws thousands of U.S. and international journalists covering the industry's trends. |
The specialty-equipment industry is known for invention and innovation, taking the canvas provided by automobile manufacturers and making it personal. Functional. And nowhere are the industry trends better seen than at the SEMA Show’s New Products Showcase.
In one central, convenient location, exhibitors can put their products before thousands of buyers, reps, racers, builders, installers and media. In fact, one of the key features of the SEMA Show’s New Products Showcase is the coverage that it fosters from both domestic and international media.
Journalists from around the world visit the New Products Showcase to see the industry’s latest innovations and what might prove hot in their home markets. And every year, writers and editors of international enthusiast media select the products they believe will do well in their home markets for the Global Media Awards, given during the SEMA Show.
Media members made more than 1,800 scans of new products at the 2008 SEMA Show, making the media the second largest group of Show registrants (after buyers) to visit the New Products Showcase. Media was most interested in products including rear camera displays, in-cabin “race cams” and dash gauges.
Buyers and media use scanners which read a barcode associated with the product. The captured product information can be printed out before leaving the New Products Showcase, and buyers and media will also receive an e-mail with product details and the booth number of the exhibitor.
SEMA is redesigning the product display cases for the 2009 Show to improve scanning reliability.
Each product is also professionally photographed before the Show opens. Post-Show, media can visit www.semaphotos.com to download high-resolution, print-quality images for use in their publications.
The ease with which journalists can access product information and images results in thousands of media hits in print, web and visual media for SEMA Show exhibitor's products.
Exhibitors who wish to enter a product in the New Products Showcase can register here. The first product entry is complimentary, and exhibitors can register a product in multiple categories.
For the 2009 Show, the Showcase is moving to a larger and more prominent location, nearly double the size of its previous footprint in the Grand Lobby area of the Las Vegas Convention Center. This year, look for it in the front of the upper South Hall in front of the Trucks, SUV & Off-Road and Powersports & Utility Vehicles sections.
The New Products Showcase will open at 8:00 a.m., prior to Show hours.
