HURT: IndyCar Series driver Will Power suffered two broken vertebra in a crash Saturday at Infineon Raceway. Fellow driver Nelson Philippe broke a foot in the same crash.
AUDI AT ATLANTA: Audi has confirmed a two-car LMP1 effort for the September 23-26 Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Allan McNish, Rinaldo Capello, Lucas Luhr and Marco Werner will serve as drivers.
GOING TO BRISTOL: After skipping the 2009 season, the USAR Pro Cup Series will return to Bristol Motor Speedway, May 15, for a 200-lap event.
NEW NAME: The Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway will be renamed the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Both companies are owned by Newell Rubbermaid.
STILL NUMBER ONE: After scoring his 100th-career World of Outlaws victory Saturday in his native North Dakota, Donny Schatz remained at the top of the National Speed Sport News Power Rankings. The rankings appear weekly in America’s Motorsports Authority.
