NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.) Inc. promoted Hideyuki Koiso to president and chief executive officer. Koiso, previously the company’s executive vice president, is a 31-year veteran of NGK Spark Plugs Co. LTD. He replaces Shinichi Odo, who is returning to Japan to assume the position of director, automotive division.
The CarDomain Network has selected Focus Media & Marketing for its sales representation in the Midwest. The companies will work together to reach a core audience of auto enthusiasts. The move is part of CarDomain’s ongoing expansion plans.
As part of its 40th anniversary celebration, A.R.E. launched its “Golden Cap Giveaway” promotion. The company has attached golden tickets near the serial numbers inside 40 randomly selected caps and covers, and the first 39 consumers who find tickets will receive $40 cash. The consumer who finds the 40th ticket will receive the grand prize of $800. Equivalent dollar amounts will also be awarded to the A.R.E. dealers where the marked items are purchased. The "Golden Cap Giveaway" runs August 1 through September 29.

Speedway Motors wins back-to-back best new product awards for its 9 Super 7 Hot Rod Carburetor. |
Speedway Motors announced that its 9 Super 7 Hot Rod Carburetor won back-to-back best new product awards from the Goodguys and the National Street Rod Association (NSRA). In July, the 9 Super 7 won the Best New Product award in the Engine and Transmission category from the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association. The award was presented at the Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. Less than a month later, the carburetor was selected as the Best New Product in its class by the NSRA during the 40th Annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky.

Rick Ross |
Scosche Industries hired industry veteran Rick Ross as its new national sales trainer. The addition of Ross will allow the company to offer personalized training and consultation to Scosche’s dealers. He will educate the sales force and dealers on the full line of Scosche products. He has more than 24 years of senior-level experience in the automotive aftermarket industry and brings extensive knowledge and understanding to his position. Prior to joining Scosche, Ross was at Pioneer Electronics where he was the technical training specialist.
Automotive Racing Products achieved registration for both the ISO9001 and the AS9100 quality standards. The registrations include all of the company’s facilities in Santa Paula, California, where all its products are manufactured, as well as its sales and packaging facility in Ventura, California. Both registrations were certified by National Quality Assurance USA of Acton, Massachusetts, which is accredited by ANAB.
At a recent Awards Dinner during its annual summer conference, the Engine & Performance Warehouse named Joe Gibbs Racing as its 2008 Vendor of the Year and Bill McCleskey as its 2008 Representative of the Year. A special one-time Outstanding Service Award was also presented during the event to Bill Gillespie, president of Desktop Publishing, for his exemplary efforts in supporting Engine & Performance Warehouse’s Engine Kit Catalog program, Specials Catalog programs and ancillary publishing and printing tasks.

VENOM GT supercar |
Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) will unveil its VENOM GT supercar to the public for the first time at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The VENOM GT will be powered by Hennessey’s specially-tuned version of the Corvette ZR1’s LS9 engine, which will be both supercharged and twin-turbocharged.
Classic Recreations, which manufacturers the officially licensed Eleanor Mustang supercar from the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" (www.Classic-Recreations.com), has selected Kahn Media to assist with an integrated public relations campaign. Kahn Media will provide Classic Recreations with North American and international media outreach and PR assistance for the company’s full range of turnkey supercars and handcrafted performance vehicles.

Dave McLellan |
Dave McLellan will be a featured guest during the 16th annual Corvette Funfest held on the corporate campus of Mid America Motorworks in Effingham, Illinois, on September 25–27, 2009. The Corvette Funfest brings together over 14,000 Corvettes and 45,000 Corvette enthusiasts for a three-day weekend filled with seminars, a Fun Display Car Show and daily entertainment. McLellan, a National Corvette Museum Hall of Famer, led the new generation C4 into the market and was instrumental in launching the Corvette Challenge Race Series in 1988.
