While vacationing in the Tennessee mountains, Michael Balisky happened upon these two Honda CUV prototypes, looking production-ready. Spy shooter Brenda Priddy says she has seen shots of the CUV in various disguises, but never this revealing.
Priddy says the CUV, called the Crosstour, is based on a modified Accord chassis, will offer Honda's new VTM-4 all-wheel-drive option, and will start production in September at Honda's East Liberty, Ohio factory. The Crosstour will slot in between the CR-V and Pilot, and looks answer Toyota's new Venza CUV.
Powertrains
are still an unknown, but the 2.3L, four-cylinder turbo from the Acura RDX is one likely choice.
