2009 Membership Directory Undergoes Makeover for Improved Usability

All subscribers of SEMA News will receive a 2009 SEMA Membership Directory.

In these tough times, SEMA is continuing to take the extra steps necessary to create new business opportunities for its member companies, recently resulting in an updated version of the SEMA Membership Directory—the staple not only of all SEMA members, but of any specialty-equipment customer.

For the first time, the 2009 SEMA Membership Directory has been bound with the March issue of SEMA News, increasing the directory’s circulation to 30,000. Previously, a book-bound version of the directory was sent only to SEMA-member companies. As an added feature, the directory will now be made available to the public on the SEMA website.

“The expanded distribution of the directory provides far greater potential for member companies to develop new contacts within the industry,” said SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting.

The 2009 directory has been updated with the latest contact information for all of SEMA’s 7,000 member companies.

“Being included in the 2009 SEMA Membership Directory gives potential customers information and access to our company, which they otherwise might not be able to easily obtain,” said Mark Vogt, general manager of Classic Industries.

To make the directory more user-friendly, it has been divided by membership categories, such as manufacturers, installer/restylers, jobbers, mail-order companies and so on. Members can also cross-reference companies by product and council affiliation, as well as look up manufacturers’ representatives by territory and export management companies by country.

“I definitely find the directory to be a valuable tool and a great asset when looking for new products,” said Vogt.

The amended directory is only one of the many added benefits that SEMA is working on in order to better equip its members.

“Use it and the many SEMA networking opportunities offered throughout the year to get in touch with other members to expand or improve your business, or to find the perfect trading partner or retail connection,” said Kersting. “The value of being a SEMA member is included in each listing.”
