The SEMA Truck & Off-Road Alliance (TORA) recently convened for its long-range planning meeting at COBB Tuning in Austin, Texas, bringing together TORA select committee members to chart a course for the future of the council.
The long-range planning meeting, unlike monthly volunteer meetings, is held annually to identify the council's strategic priorities and establish long-term goals that benefit the council's membership and the truck and off-road industry as a whole.
Areas of focus included:
- Networking and educational opportunities: Create additional networking and educational opportunities for members throughout the year, both online and in-person.
- Advocacy efforts: Partner with SEMA Government Affairs on advocacy efforts for the truck and off-road segment, including protecting public land use, EV mandates and vehicle choice, and defending small businesses.
- Membership engagement: Boost member engagement through events, programs, and resources along with a larger marketing and social media presence.
The long-range planning meeting was followed by TORA’s town hall event, also held at COBB Tuning. This event enabled members to engage with volunteer leaders, SEMA Sales, SEMA Government Affairs, SEMA Board of Directors members, and SEMA Hall of Fame members about topics relevant to the truck and off-road segment.
TORA looks forward to bringing its members together at future events. If you are interested in getting more involved, please contact TORA Director Denise Waddingham at deniselw@sema.org
