In collaboration with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the SEMA Emerging Trends & Technology Network (ETTN) hosted a successful career fair to empower students looking to jumpstart their careers in the automotive industry.
Held at both SEMA Garages in Diamond Bar, California, and Detroit, Michigan, on March 16, the events fostered valuable connections between aftermarket companies, industry professionals and students from Formula and Baja SAE competition teams.
Both events combined garnered participation from 316 students from 36 schools, 77 industry professionals and 19 companies who participated in the career fair. Students had the opportunity to present their competition vehicle builds and business prompts to industry professionals, who provided their feedback and guidance. When not presenting, students networked with companies through the career fair, where they engaged with business leaders and learned about open jobs and internships.
"The event's success highlighted the passion and value that these students have for the automotive aftermarket industry," said ETTN Director Nicole Bradle. "It was inspiring to see the connections being made and the excitement that spurred from each conversation."
