Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any further inquiries, please contact us at IndividualMember@sema.org.
- What is the difference between the SEMA Business Membership and the SEMA
Individual Membership?
The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) was created to represent its “business members” or the manufacturers, retailers, installers, media and many other professionals who make up the aftermarket industry. The association will continue to develop benefits for the business members that drive the association's mission to help the industry succeed and prosper. For SEMA Individual Members, the association has created this new member designation for consumers, enthusiasts and others who have a strong passion for customizing their vehicles. Through this membership, individuals will be able to support the association’s local, state and federal legislative and regulatory efforts and ensure the future of the hobby. While SEMA Individual Members will not have access to all of the same benefits made available to the business members, they will be able to donate to the SEMA PAC, which is critical to ensuring the voice of the enthusiast is heard when we fight for your automotive freedoms.
- Does the SEMA Individual Membership grant me access to the annual SEMA Show?
The annual SEMA Show is exclusively for trade professionals. However, a limited number of Friday Enthusiast Experience passes are available to purchase, which allow consumers and enthusiasts to access the trade show on Friday and the SEMA Cruise, which is a must-see event, providing a thrilling conclusion to the week-long SEMA Show.
- What are the benefits of joining SEMA as an Individual Member?
Join a dynamic community of auto enthusiasts and gain exclusive access to top industry discounts of up to 40% from over 20+ brands. Be the first to know about the latest industry trends, advocacy alerts, exclusive member events, breaking news and so much more.
- Can I contribute to the SEMA PAC without joining SEMA?
No. By law, only SEMA business and individual members are eligible to donate to the SEMA PAC.
- Who should I contact about a new law, regulation or legislative activity that
could harm our automotive rights?
We want to hear from you! Please email SEMA at IndividualMember@sema.org.
- Who should I contact regarding further questions about SEMA or the SEMA
Individual Membership?
Email IndividualMember@sema.org for all inquiries.
- What is the difference between the SEMA and PRI individual memberships?
PRI, or Performance Racing Industry, is a wholly owned subsidiary of SEMA that is focused primarily on the motorsports segment. SEMA and PRI are launching very similar initiatives that both target individual consumers and enthusiasts to join their respective associations.
The goal of both is to build an army of grassroots supporters who can join the fight against legislation and regulations that stand to negatively impact the automotive aftermarket and motorsports. We encourage active gearheads to join one or both so that your voice is heard. For more information on each, please visit SEMA’s Individual Membership at www.SEMA.org/IndividualMember and PRI’s Individual Membership at www.performanceracing.com/membership/individual.
